Whilst sitting watching the pouring rain writing this month’s newsletter, I wondered what my counterparts in Mulanje may be doing with their Saturday morning. It can sometimes be hard to relate to the many differences in our lives across the globe and I wanted to share with you this month the story of Juliana, one of our loan officers.
Our lives are similar in that we both work to serve others to achieve a better life for themselves, and are both motivated by the same desire to make a difference. However today Juliana will be navigating rough terrain, on a motorbike providing mentoring, guidance and assistance with small local businesses, through the heat of 77 degrees, for 12 hours or more. Her simple story inspires me to work as hard as I can to get as many people to support her in her work as I can.
Annie is the secretary for the Tayamba (“we have begun”) group, and she has been a member since its formation in 2011.
“I have benefited a lot [from MicroLoan Foundation], especially with savings; I have been able to save money, withdraw the money, and buy things for my family I would not have otherwise been able to afford.”
