MicroLoan Foundation Australia’s work gives some of the poorest women in rural sub-Saharan Africa the education and support they need to build a self-sustainable business, and escape the never-ending poverty cycle.

By providing a microloan, our female clients are able to use their business profits to feed their children more nutritious meals, provide them with an education and save money for emergencies. Loan capital is typically recycled around 2.5 times per year so your $10 gift if Donated for this purpose, delivers $25.00 of support in Africa. Loan capital is continually recycled. For example: Last year MicroLoan Foundation internationally sent $1.2 million to Africa, but prior year’s donations allowed us to provide more than $4 million in loans.

From opening our Mulanje branch in May 2009 till September 2013, MicroLoan Foundation Australia has sent $135,000 to Malawi and provided over $700,000 of loans!

This unique trip provides the opportunity to join a group of like-minded women and undertake a physical challenge in one of the most beautiful places in the world, raising vital funds for MicroLoan’s work, and seeing firsthand the impact of your fundraising efforts. This 4-day trek through the beautiful scenery of Mount Mulanje in southern Malawi is followed by a day of well-earned relaxation at Lake Malawi, before spending the last day visiting groups of women that MicroLoan Foundation supports.

Our vision is to help millions of people help themselves out of poverty by providing them with the opportunity to start small, self-sustainable businesses. Many women are stuck in poverty, struggling to support themselves and their families – we find and help them so they can build a sustainable life, irrespective of background and belief.
