Malawi has been making progress with stemming the corruption which has crept into the political arena with charging of a number of politicians and business owners over systemic fraud which has been discovered in the country. Whilst the disclosure of these crimes has seriously impacted on overseas funding it has shown the government’s apparent determination to pursue this serious problem. It has however caused widespread dissatisfaction within eh country and President Banda’s popularity has suffered as a result.

President Joyce Banda has been working hard to raise the economic performance of the country but has faced significant disruption form a numbers of political opposition parties.
