As you will have learned in our previous newsletter, I am the new Relationships Manager for MLF.
As many of you will know, business is all about relationships and for me the most authentic relationships are built on trust, respect and integrity. I asked our Chairman, Brian if I may produce the monthly newsletter, so that I can report back to you, our supporters, on our work in the field and the effectiveness of the work we are carrying out. If you have any questions on our work, or would like me to spend more time outlining particular aspects, it would be my pleasure, please feel free to email me.
We have uploaded to our website this month a truly wonderful look at our work through the eyes of business guru and author/philosopher Charles Handy. He and his wife Liz spent time travelling through Malawi, visiting our work and documented it both with photography and interviews. The work and photos are truly inspirational and we would love you to have a look.
We are also gaining great momentum with our Immersion Trip to Malawi, planned for October of this year. If you are interested in visiting our projects in country and would like to connect with likeminded people, please let me know and I would be happy to send you our trip details.
I had the absolute pleasure this week of meeting our Global Patron, Sir Bob Geldof.
I had the opportunity to discuss microfinance as an important model for alleviating the devastating affects of poverty and to thank him for his continued support. Sir Bob is a truly inspirational speaker, please let me know if you would like him to meet with your organization next time he is in Australia.
