Put a jam jar on the hall table – or in the workplace kitchen – you’ll be surprised just how quickly you’ll conjure up enough for another MicroLoan and so give another family a hand up to lift themselves from poverty. Simply deposit it into our Westpac account and we’ll do the rest – and send you a gratitude certificate to hang on the wall if you wish – just let us know.
St Ita’s Primary School
Our future is in good hands with the like of these committed students. We have Carol Haffke of The Shoe Garden (on the left) with teacher Rachel and her students in St. Ita’s who Donated a huge $983.65 to MicroLoan Foundation Australia. To raise the donation, the students formed little businesses to make sustainable products to then sell at a market. What an amazing effort!
Thank you! You’re simply wonderful!
Annelise from Brisbane repeated what she did for MicroLoan Foundation Australia last year on her 8th birthday and sent us another $60 she’d saved by doing extra chores around the house this year. “Hope the money helps. Have a good life.” were the gorgeous words on the card which came with her donation. Such an inspiration! Annelise, we love you 🙂
Carol Haffke The team at MicroLoan Foundation are in awe of her brilliant contributions. She is our virtual Ambassador and Annelise’s God Mother. Simply “Thank you” from us all. Through The Shoe Garden in Brisbane, Carol has sent us a whopping $3,023.50 this financial year! Your generosity means words fail me when I lamely attempt to express our thanks – we all love you Carol.
Her passion for MicroLoan Foundation Australia has resulted in her customers also donating over a $1000 this year as well.
You’re a legend Carol!
Buy 1 Give 1 , (see later) have sent us $7618.23 this financial year bringing their total in the past 4 years to over $21,000 – a whopping big thank you B1G1!
Big hugs from us B1G1!
I can go on and on writing so many wonderful, deserving names not to mention our many anonymous donors (you know who you are – thank you too :)) but can I just say thank you everyone, you inspire us to do what we do! Without you, we wouldn’t…
Our human instinct is to support those who support others.
That makes sense doesn’t it?
And it’s proven to help business – legitimately.
As a donor to MLF, we’d like to see your business get the recognition you deserve, so contact me and I’ll share more information on how together we can do this.
B1G1 was founded 9 years ago by my one of mentors, Paul Dunn, and his partner, Masami Sato. Paul and Masami are great supporters of MLF and we have benefited with $2000 from them this year and over $14,000 in the last 4 years. Visit B1G1 to see how they work by encouraging businesses to add gifts to their products. And you can do the same with MLF – just ask me how.
Schools Program Coordinator Kamaia Harkness our dedicated volunteer who has created this brilliant and innovative program that is available for school teachers and students Australia-wide. It comprises a number of curricula-related activities and a program which we have now officially launched with our pilot school commencing in the New Year. And we’re eagerly seeking more. For more information please visit the website.
We’re looking for people who can help us deliver presentations to schools so if you’re excited about microloans and interested in knowing more, send an email to me .
A call for help from Kamaia whose weary old Apple Mac has expired – if anyone has a cast-off it will help her progress this program that has the potential to change the face of MLF – just call me 24/7 on 0417 211 366.
Peter Ryan the inspiring founder and CEO of MicroLoan Foundation from UK has been working tirelelessly for several years to broaden MLF’s reach into Zambia and beyond. Frustratingly, the 2016 Zimbabwe opening has been delayed and we hope to get final government approval very soon. Your Zimbabwe contributions are held pending this launch.
This is truly exciting news for a number of reasons.
Firstly, we really want to expand to other countries. It’s not to say our work in Malawi is done, but we all acknowledge that the hardships suffered in Zimbabwe have been dreadful and we believe we can help.
And I believe this move can help us raise more funds for our clients in Africa. There are many Australians who came from Zimbabwe and South Africa who I know will be delighted to have a trustworthy organisation they can support to help those who remain in Zimbabwe.
We’ll keep you posted.
I am inviting you to join us and become part of our ‘Start Something’ campaign, increasing the impact we can have in Malawi, one of the poorest countries in the world. Malawi is now experiencing extreme drought after just having suffered a devastating flood earlier this year leaving hundreds of thousands homeless, with their crops destroyed and facing continued hardship into the foreseeable future. And the recently announced 27% (yes 27%) inflation rate and you can begin to imagine how heart-wrenching the circumstances are.
If you’d like to help us grow please get in touch. Whether it’s in management, fundraising, donating Kamaia an Apple Mac, running an event or simply spreading the word we’d love to hear from you.
Call me anytime on 0417 211 366.
We wish you all a wonderful holiday time and hope you achieve all your dreams for 2017!
